When you do finally arrive (late, most likely, and you are either really not happy about that or stressed about that or both), you find that some thoughtless asshole has taken the last of the coffee and didn't bother to make a new pot.

Or, some other thoughtless asshole (there are so many in the office) drained the last of the water from the water cooler, and opted not to put on a new bottle.
